Leather Skirts

30 Aug

When you think leather skirts I know what pops in your mind –  80’s inspired tight mini skirt.  Well the leather skirt is back but with volume.  The pleating and laser cut detail in some of these skirts makes them wearable even to work.  Leather dresses with a little volume are also in at the moment.  Here is a cute one from C.Z. Falconer, $795, lambskin.  Would you wear a leather pleated skirt to work?

Colorful Heels for Fall

29 Aug

The color blocking we saw this summer is going to continue into the fall.  On my fall shopping list is some brightly colored sued shoes.  Here are some examples that I found in the September In Style Magazine.  My fave is the blue with the stacked heel.  Make sure you pick up a pair soon to instantly bring your wardrobe in to Fall 2011.

Patterned Flooring

27 Aug

Graphic patterns are not only big in fashion, but also home decor.  If you are looking for an easy way to update your space try a rug using only two colors, clean lines, and simple pattern much like this painted floor here.  Not only do I love the floor but the color scheme.  Matching pinks and orange is a little bold, but this looks great and it is a color combination you can also work into your wardrobe.

If you have done any creative with your flooring weather it is paint or a cool rug please comment and send me a picture.  I would love to post my favorites.

Necklace + Brooch

25 Aug
An easy way to make your jewelry a little different- just add a brooch.  You can pin one to a shorter necklace or string one through a chain to make a pendant necklace.  This gives you something unique and a little more interesting.  The picture above is a chain necklace I got at Forever 21 I think and I’ve had for years.  The brooch I found on sale at Banana Republic and I’ve it for years as well.  I think this make both of these pieces more exciting.
